 Location: North-Central Europe (borders with France, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, North Sea and Baltic Sea).

Area: 357 051 km2 - 63 of the world.
Inland water: 7,798 km2 (2.18%) - 2012.
Shoreline: 2389 km.
Climate: Temperate rainy (especially in summer), with well-defined seasons and overall humid eastern winds predominate. The climate is moderated by the "North Atlantic Drift", which is the extension of the "Gulf Stream", in the east, the climate is more continental, winters can be very strict, very hot summers, and long dry periods have been recorded.
Highest point: Mount Zugspitze (2963 meters - located in the Alps, south side).
Lowest point: Neuendorf bei Wilster (- 3.54 meters).
Area used in agriculture: 33.13%, being 4.850km2 irrigated land (2005).
